My firm belief is that effective communication is always a two-way process. Successful communication builds stronger connections and helps the right things get done in organizations, better and faster. Yet communication often fails.

With a natural curiosity and an inherent need to bring order to the Universe, early in life I developed the habit of asking “the reasons why.” Over time that was honed into a strong ability to communicate very complex issues in simple terms that every day people can easily understand and relate to.

Today, as a senior consultant and communicator, I partner with my clients as a confidant and trusted advisor to help them seek, organize and distill complex information, then persuasively convey it to the people they need to engage, whether their audiences are internal, external or both. Perhaps my highest value-add comes through my strategic understanding of  global business as well as government policies. I strive to connect the bigger picture in even highly disparate situations – such as exists between the Silicon Valley and DC.

With a long history in the tech business, I’ve built a strong foundation working with dynamic, innovative businesses. I have extensive experience working with executives, global work teams, partners and affiliates in both mature Western European economies and emerging markets. I’ve incorporated international dialog, relationship building and corporate policy guidance into both paid and volunteer positions.

My college-level education includes a Bachelors Degree at Rutgers University (I’m still a Jersey Girl at heart) and graduate study in International Business at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Spurred on by a desire to understand how governments approach technology policy, I completed a Master of International Policy and Practice Degree at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington DC in 2012. With a passion around the growing use of data in so many aspects of modern life, I’ve also earned two certifications (CIPM, CIPP-US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

I’ve served as President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, and have been an involved participant on Boards for 2 chapters of the American Marketing Association, the World Affairs Council of Northern California, and am a member of PRSA.

A devotee of life-long learning, I maintain a burning curiosity about how the world works. Please check out my blog for a few musings.
